The basics
Do Clover and Shopify share stock counts on their own?
No. Clover and Shopify each keep their own stock count, and neither updates the other. Without a sync app, a sale in one system has to be taken off the other by hand, or you risk selling stock you don't have.
What does SameCount do?
It links each Clover item to the Shopify product with the same SKU and keeps their stock counts the same, in both directions, every 60 seconds. Sell in the shop and Shopify updates; sell online and Clover updates.
Who is SameCount for?
Shops that sell in person on Clover POS and online through Shopify, from a few hundred items up to 25,000. Gift shops, boutiques, bike and outdoor stores, bookshops, garden centres: anywhere the same stock is sold in both places.
Does it sync products, prices or orders?
No, only stock levels. You keep managing names, prices, photos and new products the way you do now. Orders and customers stay where they are.
How syncing works
How often does it sync?
Every 60 seconds, all day. A typical sync finishes in a few seconds; on a 4,000-item test store the slowest took 28 seconds.
How are items matched between Clover and Shopify?
By SKU. A Clover item and a Shopify product variant with the same SKU are linked. Items with no match on the other side aren't synced or touched.
What if an item sells in store and online in the same minute?
Both sales come off. SameCount adds up what changed on each side since the last sync instead of copying one side over the other, so neither sale is lost. See the sync rule for a worked example.
Do restocks and returns sync too?
Yes. Any change to available stock, made in either system, is synced: sales, returns, deliveries, recounts and manual edits.
What if Clover or Shopify goes down?
SameCount retries every minute and, when both answer again, adds up everything that changed while it was down. No sale is missed or counted twice. Three failed syncs in a row alert us.
Can it sync more than one shop or location?
Each plan covers one Clover merchant and one Shopify location. If you run more, tell us what you need.
Safety and data
Will it change my stock before I'm ready?
No. New shops start in watch-only mode: SameCount logs every change it would make and makes none. We go through the log with you, and it only goes live when you say so.
What if bad data gets into one system?
SameCount pauses instead of copying it. If more than 20% of your items would change in one sync, or more than 25 would drop to zero, it stops and alerts us.
What can SameCount see in my stores?
Products, SKUs, stock levels and locations, and it can change stock levels. It never reads customers, orders, payments or staff. See our privacy policy.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Syncing stops, and we delete your access tokens, item links and change log within 30 days.
Getting started and pricing
My SKUs are a mess. Can I still use it?
Yes. Run the free SKU Check to see exactly what to fix, or buy our SKU cleanup ($149, once) and we send back corrected files for both systems within 3 business days.
How long does setup take?
Connecting both stores takes a few minutes. Then SameCount runs in watch-only mode while we check the results with you. It goes live when you're happy with them.
How much does it cost?
$49 a month for up to 5,000 items, or $99 a month for up to 25,000. Our first 10 shops pay $29 a month for 12 months. Billing starts when your sync goes live and the first 7 days are free. See pricing.
Is SameCount made by Clover or Shopify?
No. SameCount is made by Ant Studio, an independent software studio. It connects to Clover and Shopify through their official APIs, with the permissions you approve when you connect.

The SKU Check is free, needs no account, and takes about a minute.
